We're Moving to Honduras!!
Hola! WHAAAAAT??? WOW! You read that right! We are moving to Honduras! Can you believe it? It's actually hard for US to believe when we sit down and consider all that has transpired in our lives over the past couple months to lead us to this decsion and introduction. In June of this year, 2016, we will be moving the Evatt five to El Zamorano, Honduras where Lindsay and I will serve as LEAD teachers at the Good Shepherd Christian Academy (GSCA) in their biligual program. I will be teaching History and Music and Lindsay will be teaching the preschool class. Our children will also get to be a part of this program and attend school there as well. We are excited about the calling God has placed on our lives. Our hope is that this blog will keep everyone updated on what is going on in the day to day lives of the Evatts, and the beautiful children of the Good Shepherd Christian Academy. To say that we are excited about what the future holds is an understatement! This endevour is not something that we have approached without much prayer and thought. Lindsay and I have felt the pull of serving in missions for a very long time, and knew that one day we would take the step of faith necessary to serve in a foreign land. In 2006, I had the opportunity to be part of a mission trip to three countries in Central America, and it changed my life. I witnessed unbelievably amazing things during this trip, and knew that I had to do something upon my return home. Lindsay and I prayed that if God had a work for our lives, we would willingly do whatever it takes to find His plan. We began our calling in Missions by serving as houseparents at a local orphanage for five years, and learned so many things during our time there. When our time was finished at the Home for Children we had no immediate plans for serving, however, God orchestrated a plan bigger and better than what we could have imagined which brought us to our current opportunity. Over then next 5-6 months we have the monumental task of raising our funds for the Evatt five. The cost of living is surprisingly comparable to living in the U.S. So, with that being said, we need your help! With a needed amount of $2500 per month, we are in need of prayer partners to believe with us, financial partners that could help support us on a monthly basis, fundraising partners that know how to help us make it happen, and opportunities to speak and present our mission to your churches and small groups. There's room for all to be involved in many different ways. So, can you help us? Will you partner with us in this mission to "know Him better and make Him known"?
